A footwear review is an assessment of the suitability of a patient's footwear by a podiatrist. During a footwear review the podiatrist will look at a number of different factors such as the material the shoe is made out of and what fastenings if any the shoe has.
What is the purpose of a footwear review?
A footwear review is carried out on the majority of patients to determine whether the type of shoes they are wearing are a contributing factor to their problem or condition. Inappropriate and poorly fitting footwear can lead to a number of problems or can make the symptoms of condition worse. Following an assessment a podiatrist will be able to recommend the best type of footwear for each patient.
